At its 180th session, in October 2008, the Executive Board of UNESCO considered and endorsed the revised Strategic Plan of activities for 2008-2013 of the Information for All Programme (IFAP). During the debate on the Strategic Plan for IFAP, Board Members, in the majority of their interventions, expressed satisfaction with the new orientations given to IFAP and underlined the importance of this Programme for the achievements of the Millennium Development Goals and the objectives of the World Summit on the Information Society. 19.09.2008 | International conference set foundations for linguistic diversity in cyberspace
An international conference “Linguistic and Cultural Diversity in Cyberspace” addressed the issue of multilingualism on the Internet last July in Yakutsk, Russian Federation. The Conference was organized by the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Russian Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography, in cooperation with the UNESCO Office in Moscow and the Russian Committee for UNESCO’s Information for All Programme.
