The book "Access to Legal and Other Socially Relevant Information through Russia's Libraries. Developing the Legal Culture of the Population" was published

 Interregional Library Cooperation Center and Russian Committee of the UNESCO Information for All Programme (IFAP) have produced, under the auspices of the RF Ministry of Culture, a new publication dedicated to the network of public legal information centers - an analytical report entitled "Access to Legal and Other Socially Relevant Information through Russia's Libraries. Developing the Legal Culture of the Population". 

 

 

The report describes the results of the Project «Measures for Developing and Enhancing the Activity of the Network of Legal and Other Socially Relevant Information Centers Being Established on the Basis of Regional and Municipal Libraries». This Project was implemented in 2010 against the order of the RF Ministry of Culture by the Interregional Library Cooperation Center and Russian IFAP Committee under the auspices of the regional bodies of the Federal Security Service of Russia and with the participation of the Public Libraries Section of the Russian Library Association.

 

  

The book covers the structural and functional features of legal, environmental, business and municipal information centers being established within the central universal libraries of the Russian Federation subjects.

 

  
Attached to the publication are lists of both printed and digital fundamental resources of legal and other socially relevant information that are at the disposal of the central regional universal scientific libraries; price lists of the charged services which are offered by the access centers; lists of social partners and public libraries where access to socially relevant information has been most adequately organized; and measures undertaken to raise the awareness of the population of socially relevant information and to develop legal culture of the population.


 

The readership of this publication includes library directors and staff; governmental authorities; cultural, scientific, education, communication and information institutions.
